I fabricated a platform on casters. Raised the body high enough to roll the unit under the car, then lowered the body down onto unit. I only have an 8' ceiling in my shop so could not raise the body much higher.

What did you use to raise and lower the body?

I used my cherry picker to lift it to the required hight and had to use the saw horses to enable removing my cherry picker so I had room to roll the cart under the body.
Then re-rigged the cherry picker so I could lower the body onto the K frame for bolt up. Then I put my floor jack under the tail of the transmission to jack it up into place.
It took about 20 minutes to complete the bolt up and was much easier than going in from the top. No scratched paint either.

That's the way to do it alright. Nice pics showing the process.

Thanks, I guess they weren't in order but I'm a newbie here. That's my excuse and i'm sticking with it

Very nice, looks like it worked great for you. Like the engine paint restoration also, will be getting my engine rebuilt and painted in a couple months and I have a nos A/C compressor to replace the locked up one so it is also nice to see how yours came together!

Thanks for sharing and welcome! Keep us posted on the rest of the build. I'm parcel to the '70 Challys. Looking forward to seeing the completed car!

The car was finished last year. Here are some pics of the finished product. It belongs to my Niece and is back in the St Louis area100_5672.jpg100_5671.jpg100_5652.jpg100_5651.jpg100_5650.jpg100_5660.jpg100_5658.jpg100_5653.jpg

nice job looks like mark morman did it from graveyard cars,,you know there's only a handful of people in the world that could pull that off,,lol sweet ride

Here is a link to my other resurections. The Challengers are both gone. My niece owns the orange one and I sold the sixpac car. It is in Sydney Australia now. I am getting ready to start a 6.1 swap into a 68 Charger. Gonna need lots of help with that. http://www.americantorque.com/member/1/855

Beautiful car, I love Challengers - great job on the resto and engine work!!!

I'm sure your Brother loves it.
