Heart of Dixie.....
Guys, last nite at four am I got stung by two small yellow jackets while sleeping in my bed. Found several small ones in the window sill closest to the bed. This afternoon I discovered a small hole in the vinyl siding on the side of the house and they were flying in and out at a steady pace. Normally, when I find a nest out in the yard the Wasp and Hornet spray fills up the hole with foam and the usually knocks em out, sometime a second shot is needed. The small hole in the siding will not let me use my normal can of spray. I need something with like a small rubber hose to stick in there and gas em out. Gonna need to do this at night as the scouts returning during the day would prolly hit me. I just got popped by four last week as I was mowing and disturbed a nest. Don't want to shoot anything flammable into the walls of my house. Any suggestions ....thanks

Don't overthinking it, after watching me get the crap stung out of me my boy came out and made quick work of it. I was impressed, he made sure he had clothing thicker than the bee's stinger and let em have it.

I use a Wasp spray in the morning before they start moving. Get the type that will shoot a long distance, rather than the foam type.

Before I went after them from the outside, id figure out where they got inside and close that up first.

In the walls? Call a pro.
Not even kidding here. The usual redneck trickery doesn't apply when they're in the
structure.

Only thing on Gods' green earth I'm allergic to are yellow jackets.
I wasn't always, but I've gotten into a couple whopper nests over the years and been
stung over 75 times as a result - wala, allergic now.
Had a nest along the fence line about 15 years ago that got so big that they flew in
and out of it like LaGuardia 24/7! Once our exterminator came out, loaded to the teeth
with bug ammo, we went to work on that one.
It took over an hour of constant battle...
He wound up emptying his on-board little tank in the back of the truck, plus a case
of Sevin Dust, me picking them off his back as they attacked and my wife picking them
off me as well.
The insecticide literally pooled up out of the ground and we had the pleasure of watching
the queen eventually evacuate the nest - but covered in the white Sevin dust.
She was HUGE.
About a week later, some of the entomologists from UT came out and wanted to dig up
the nest - they'd heard about it and wanted to take it back to Knoxville with them.
Hey, have at it, crazy people...
They told me the nest probably held close to 40k yellow jackets and was one of the largest
they'd ever seen - and when they dug it up and had it on their trucks' tailgate, it blew my
mind how huge it was!

So yeah, I have a healthy hatred of the little bastards...
But in the wall of the house? Yeah, time for the pros.

put powdered sevin in a plastic bag tape bag over hole at night, leaving an opening so they can still get out. they will come out step in the poison and eventually carry it into the nest, killing all of them, this works every time I've tried it.

It is an old house that was refurbished a few years ago with new replacement windows. The entry hole they are using is just about a foot under the window. So Im thinking the small young one are getting in around the sill somewhere or maybe phone or receptacle cover. When I get em knocked down will go pulling out bed and dresser for a close look. I use the kind the shoots like 20 feet, but it foams up quick and not sure I can get enough in there before it foams up. But maybe...

Me too. Had a bad reaction four years ago. A year later to the day I got bit again and that time was a near death reaction. Now I carry TWO epi pens during summer and fall months. Had to put them to use two years ago. Got off easy last year I guess!

By the way, yellow jackets don't sting, they bite. And they live to bite again, and again, and again. I hate the little bastards more than any other creature on the planet !!

Yup, when I was about 12 we were hiking on a steep mountain path, three of us. Some unseen wasp nest singled me out, and attacked kamikaze style. I flipped out and ran screaming down the mountain. My older brother and his buddy had to chase me down, throw me down, and start swatting and pulling wasps off of me. They were under my clothes, in my shirt, everywhere. Stung the **** out of me. Never touched the two other guys. Now I’m terrified of them. I’ll jump off a roof to get away from them. The funny thing is I still get stung from time to time, and it’s not that bad. But my brain is now wired to be terrified of them.

I just had this problem last week. I put 10% strength seven dust. Use a putty knife or something and put about a spoon full in the hole. They'll be dead in 1 to 2 days. Do it at night! They track the dust to the nest and then they'll die.

I have this one right now! It’s at camp and the dreaded bald faced hornets.. I’ll wait until they’re all in it or most anyway at night and spray the crap out of it with the foam! I like the foam much better. It sticks to the nest blocking the entrance and they have to go through it to get out.. They’ll be done..

As far as in the wall, the problem is most likely much larger than you can see. I agree with using the credit card to call a pro! Good luck!

Make sure you have everyone out of the house.
I would prob close off that bedroom also.
They all will be looking for a escape hole once you start killing from the outside.
I would try to find that interior hole before I did much outside.
