My pistol grip shifter has a 5-speed insert and I want to put in the correct 4-speed insert. Does the bezel have to be removed? Does it just pry off? I'm figuring a wide blade putty knife/scraper to lift it evenly over a wider area. Does the insert just sit in there? Also, the bezel rattles a little while driving. Couple of dabs of silicone caulk adhesive? Thanks guys.

PS- If I get the 5 speed insert off without cracking it, I will be selling it. What's it worth?

The five speed insert is held in place with 2 sided tape. You may or may not get it out undamaged. Under the insert there will be a stud the bezel fits over and it has a split in it. You can spread the stud a bit with a standard screwdriver and it should tighten the bezel up.
