I had these little pipes made up for cam break in on a run stand. I told the guy I wanted mufflers on them but I guess he didn't have any junky ones laying around. Am I at risk of burning up an exhaust valve if I run it like this for 20 minutes? Thanks for any input!

You're good, if you burn a valve it was from something else.

Thanks, man! This thing is 'bout ready to rock!
I like open pipe break ins as well, but remember, you can hear stuff going down hill alot easier with some cheap muffs

You'll be fine uncorked.....
but I'd buy some summit brand two chambers, or some Jones Exhaust, glasspacks. You might like the sound enough to put em on your car.

Whaaaaat? You don't need no stinkin hearing protection....TURN THE RADIO UP LOUDER
 :drinks:

I don’t know about burning up valves but you certainly won’t be able to hear if there are any concerning noises from the fresh engine. I’d by a pair of cheap oval turbo mufflers

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Yes, I know this will be very loud. I started a 440 running straight out the manifolds before and we had to yell loudly to communicate!

we use mufflers on our stand,I want to hear if something isn’t right. But you won’t hurt anything.
