Keeping the hood down at high speed 62-63 Fury

This 62 has hood pins. I'll bet you can't see them.

I can’t see them! Are they the common ones in the usual spot?

I would think that tightening down the latch and adjusting the rubber stops so the provide a little more pressure to the sheet metal would help.

Common parts. Pins are screwed into welded nuts in the hood. Pins go through holes in the core support. Clips are accessed through small holes in the grille.

mr. b, the 63 Fury we had was in a front end collision so I think the hood was badly stressed

Looks fine but my car has the stock look and I will keep it that way unless I want to go fast like you

LMOFL !!!!! You guys having this problem with a stock steel hood???? This is the same reason I don't use a hood at the track,the hood starts to curl upwards at the front curve.I tried some aluminum braces to no avail

Now I only wear my hood when I go to Carlisle.That was a $140 lesson in PA motor vehicle law
Added: BTW,,,,my hood is fiberglass....

They won't let you get by with not running a hood but they turn a deaf ear and blind eye to all the tuners here with fart cans and rear tires at a 45*.
Those Carslisle cops are hard at the shows. A guy I knew drove the car he just bought from one gate to the next and got wrote up for all kinds of stuff. He was from Sweden and said that cop scared the heck out of him!

I thought that's the way you were doing it. I can't get to that area on my '62 Dodge. Inner headlight trim rings are in the way.

I always thought about useing a set of latches off of something newer with a cable running into the interrior of the car. It would be for security and safety.

Ahhha,Penciltucky ! Back in the 70's they wrote my brother up for no front bumper on his 55 Chevy, It did have a tube front bumper that my Dad made for it.Nope had to be factory. Also bumper measurements.I think it was 2'' over stock.Up in the front or up in the back,Or Both ! I see they are still at it.
I do see allot of fender less cars at shows that have Pa plates when I'm there.I thought that was a no no too.
