I need some help! I got my 65 Belvedere going and was trying to put some miles on the new engine before winter. I have a bad wheel hop problem and I'm looking for new springs. Also I need to raise the back end a little because the tires are rubbing the inner fender wells. Question is, I have the original small block springs and I would like to find some new big block springs, but I can't find any for the 65. I only found ones for 67 and up. Can someone tell me where to get them and what I need to order? Thanks for the help.

Contact St. Louis Spring Co. I've bought 2 sets from them. I had the ones for my '64 made with an additional leaf plus 2" of extra arch. They'll make what you want for a reasonable price, and you'll get them delivered in less than a week.

The cheapest way to go and maybe the best is to add a leaf to your old springs. I got a set of leaf springs off of a 69 c- body for my 66 belvedere. C-body springs are huge and have a better arch. I took one of the long leafs out and cut it down to support the main leaf. It raised the car up a few inches and stiffed up the ride. I've had a few friends buy the hd springs from mopar and they really didn't raise the car that much and they seem to sag in a few yrs. Most of the new springs today are made in Mexico. The old mopar springs are tough to beat. I added the leaf without taking the rear tires off and I didn't have to remove the main leaf spring from the body.
I rode in a car with mopar superstock springs and it rode to rough.
Right now I'm adding a leaf to my 69 dart from the same set of leafs out of the c-body to help with tire hop.

On the cheap, AKA for now, swap out the short shackles, cut the rear segments spring clamps off and add (If needed) clamps to the front half of the spring.

Band aid fixes that work. Until the new springs come in.
