Lets start a real life shop tour thread

Hey that place looks familiar! You're off the bird and auzerias right.

Shop is coming along great. Here's a few more pics

Here's my shop. It used to be an old heavy equipment shop and was built in the early 60s I believe. I really wish I had a before picture of the inside, because you wouldn't believe the difference. It was dark, dingy, nasty, and dirty. There was an old drive over pit where my Road Runner is sitting, that was completely full of water. I pumped it out, filled it with gravel, and poured concrete over the top. I insulated the entire building, and put the plywood on the walls. We had new tin put on the ceiling, and new lights to brighten it up. There was no way to get into the lean-to without going around the outside of the building, so we cut those two openings in the wall. The shop is about a mile from my house, and someday I would like to build a smaller 2 or 4 car shop at my place.

A wider pic, i got lucky and was able to nab the counters when the inlaws redid their kitchen #TinyTimsHotrodShed

Dirt floors suck, esp with respect to a traditional engine hoist.

My "garage" at the house is really a free standing car port/pole barn.

This is where I do the real work-

That's the Satellite while I was painting the engine bay, my 72 with a 73 RR hood test fitted, my tool and shop bay, and the wagon.

Those bays are 12'w by 18'6" deep (#21 is 20'x by 18'6"), or just barely NOT deep enough to squeeze between the car and walls in front and back if the door is not open.

I'm kind of hoping someone on "the other side" moves out. They are 20'w by 22' deep over there.

This is the future home of my shop. It will be a Mueller 60'x40'x14' metal building. There will be 2 14'x12' roll up doors, and a 3/7 steel walk-in door on the end. I will build an office with bathroom, and will have a compressor/storeroom in the last bay. middle bay will have a 2 post lift, and the leftmost 20' bay will be where the 34 Plymouth Coupe will be built (when I find it). I am currently building a 1955 331 Hemi at work for it. Have the blockwork done except for honing, crank turned, Molnar rods ordered, will order pistons soon. I am getting HotHeads aluminum heads for it, and some other goodies. I will post that later when I am further along on it. I should get started on it in the next month or two. I am getting anxious though, and am tired of refining the CAD drawings. The house garage is too small and an awkward shape to have a project, and work on our other trucks. I also don't like laying on my back anymore either...

Just saw this thread. I am attaching the only pictures I have at the moment. My "Shop" is a 32'x48' pole barn with three single doors and 12' ceilings. Splurged for a lift a few years ago. It's a mess in these pics because we were in the middle of putting new front suspension in the Barracuda. No Heat, No Air. Thought about putting a ceiling and walls in with insulation so I could heat and cool it, but hasn't happened yet. I'll try and get some better pics once it warms up a bit around here.

Operation Concrete has been activated. Work to begin on Tuesday, and they wanted me to water the area for better compaction.

My shop has two sides, I do most of my work on one side & store stuff on the other.

Work is in progress:

Leveling and compacting, compacted and marked, footings dug

Here is what we have. 19x16x7 old red barn with concrete floor, second floor same size, Wood and car shop. My plan is to add a 16x10x8 shed to the back of it this summer then open the walls up for access. The "shed" will eventually hold all of the tools and shelving giving us the 19x16 area just for the car.

New shop, still working on getting settled in. Hopefully will be installing new work bench, cabinets and lighting in 3 weeks.

Not much of a shop. Just your basic two car garage with paint and trim. Next house will hopefully have some property to build a nice sized shop with a lift.
