    gasket information.

I'm researching head gaskets with a 4.410 bore.

The smallest compressed thickness in a composition is .039, that gets me 9.34:1 cr

I can get a cometic @ .030 that gets me 9.5:1 cr (where I would like to be for the cam I'm useing) but they are $85.00 each.

I can not find the right, shim type gasket, with a 4.410 bore.

I like the idea of the composition gasket. Would the difference in compression be that much to notice when the cam recommends 9.5:1 cr?

you'd never know the compression difference; especially after some carbon build up. if you want composition gaskets i'd just get some cheapo fel-pro 8519's. i've never had an issue with them and they won't hang over in the bore like 1009's.

If I order the 1009 felpro with a 4.410 bore, will they be "hanging in the bore"?

Mopar Preformance offers two gaskets for $62.00 and are suppose to be the felpro 1009.

      I don't see the 8519 with bore choices. I'm .040 over

i just measured an 8519 and it was 4.51". avoid the 1009's like the plague, unless you have a 4.25 or smaller bore. the 8519's are pretty common. the mopar .020" steel shims will work at .040" but need a fairly smooth finish on the heads and block.

Thanks Lew, for taking the time to measure one for me.
