These Lunati solid lifters seem odd to me.

Since I opened the package and looked at the wide open center of these, I've wondered of they are right for what I want. Tonight I showed them to a Mopar buddy. He thinks that they might be for use in an engine with bushed lifter bores.
Compare the Lunati lifters with THESE from Howards:

The Howards have a thin oil band similar to a Hydraulic lifter. The Howards seem like a "no-brainer" while the Lunati ones seem iffy.
