Since MSD bought Mallory, it's impossible to find parts! I have MSD and my friend has Mallory. My question is, does anyone know if there is any comparison chart for MSD TO Mallory springs? I have plenty of MSD springs and I would rather not spend hours of trial and error testing. He has basically a stock 440 with a mild cam, headers and a Holley 850. It goes great low end and then flattens out. It sounds like a distributor/timing issue to me.....

MSD doesn't have a compatibility chart, and as such the techs there have instructed guys like me that work at places like Jeg's to call MSDs tech line direct as they can do it via phone with the Mallory part numbers. Basically MSD is trying to phase Mallory out 100% by not offering parts they said they'd keep around, and since holley bought MSD AND Accell to put almost all the competition out of business to create a proverbial monopoly, Mallory parts are now made from unobtainium unfortunately.

Call MSD, they'll get the parts to talk to each other

most of the old unilights are mechanical advance( no vac advance).check and see if there are any videos on how to max out the advance.i seem to remember them requiring some kind of plastic key to adjust max advance.have you tried playing with the initial advance to see if it helps?
