Minnesota Gold

Went a bit nuts with the pics , but none of this stuff has been touched since it was built. Pretty cool to see where everything goes at this stage
No such thing as to many pictures before you take it apart!

Started the process of dash clean up and gas tank assessment. Instrument cluster is cleaning up nicely, but the fuel system needs replacing. Tank was crusty but mostly whole. Found a mouse in there too....bonus

I'll ad that normally I'd try to fix a tank with pretty much decent metal....but.....after wire brushing the rusted area....pinholes everywhere.....suck for sure.....but tanks are pretty inexpensive..and leaks are the opposite.

Interesting to see someone from Texas to come up here to Minnesota to buy a car. LOL
Looks like a good project.

1100 miles each way. Mn is a awesome state. Lots of ice....and deer.

Been working on the brakes this week. Holy crap these lines are toasty. Flair nuts were not moving one micron. Took me hours to get the ear ones off without destroying the lines. Managed to take the Wheel cylinders off....and get the lines out to recondition them. Feels like restoring a ancient chariot. Toughest one I've ever taken on.

Those are not too bad to do.

MUCH easier than 70 and up backs.

Getting through the harness and bringing power back to all the bits.

So many folks have asked about Herbs paints and if they look close to the initial paint . The gold is spot on.

I’ll add this. When using the rattle can , wash the parts with Dawn and warm water. Adhesion promoter and a test patch

small, random spray pattern ..... do not blast this stuff on....it will pool and run quickly
