Modern Bullitt build

Grate looking charger. It is too bad they destroyed the one in bullet. That movie is probably why I bought a charge.

Put the car on the pro-form scales today. It looks like all of the weight savings between the aluminum engine, bumper mounts, 9” rear and RMS coil over suspension shaved off 300 lbs from the factory weight of a hemi 4 speed car. This is amazing considering all of the additional unibody reinforcements I made to the car. My car is 3/4 full of fuel and weighs 3664 lbs. Specs I find online for a factory hemi 4-speed, Dana car comes in at 3974 lbs. That is awesome considering I was shooting for about 200 lbs lighter! The other cool thing is that it’s a bit better than a 45/55 split.

Thanks

Pat

Picked up the next car a 1966 Pontiac GTO a few weeks ago in Minnesota. Original paint, chrome, interior, engine, trans, and rear! Unmolested 61,000 mile surviver. Car only had 16000 miles in 2002. Amazing documentation from all 3 owners.

No restoration for this car just paint correction cleaning and detailing preservation!

Drove it 1200 mile back home, used/ leaked 1/2 qt of oil. Ran great and made about 13+ mpg.

Thanks

Pat

Love it! A close friend of the family has a ‘67 GTO, 400/4 speed, red with black interior. It’s one of the few non Mopars that I’d really like to own one day…

Yes that is very significant! Don't forget about your wheels.

To compare, here is my car with subframe connectors, Dana 60, heavier than stock seats, iron gen2 hemi and steel wheels.

Very cool to see a stock car on the same scale system! Also good to see that my weight savings it was primarily in the front of the car! As for the wheels I’m not sure I’ve saved any weight there despite the fact they’re aluminum, they’re much larger than the steel stock wheels. Next time I have one off I will compare the weight to my original spare. Thank you so much for the info and photo of your cars weight!

Yes, it is crazy how heavy the charger hood and trunk lid are! I think you would easily knock off a 10th from one’s quarter mile time if you remove both
Thank you sir!

Followed the build from the beginning, and looked forward to updates! It also gave me a direction to go with my Roadrunner, which I am finally getting started on.
