Modern Bullitt build

I was going back through your thread looking for the wheel and tire specs, which I had originally seen. Later on in the thread you mention Michelin sending you new tires, but mention the fronts being 275/40. Is this correct? I've been trying to figure out the widest tire that could fit using the RMS front setup. Thanks, Jake

I received a note from a member on the Pro Touring forum. He said he has been following my charger build thread and that it was his favorite thing on the Internet, well almost! He says it hurts his feelings every time he opens an update on the Charger and sees the tires I’m using on the car.

It turns out he works for Michelin North America. He said they would like to give me a set of their tires because I’m building exactly the level of vehicle and build that they want to be associated with.

Needless to say I said YES! So cool that a large corporation like Michelin would think that my home built project car is worthy of their attention.

The rear wheel (335/35-17 Michelin Pilot Sports) showed up today and I should see the front wheels (275/40-17) soon.

This is very cool, I am very honored, and I will pay it forward!!

Thank you Michelin!!

Pat

Jake, sorry for the mistake, it should’ve read 255/44-17. Fits and works great with the RMS suspension
Thanks

Where did you mount the antenna motor? https://www.retromanufacturing.com/...y-automatic-power-antenna?variant=31333675406

What dash speakers did you use?
Amazing car!

Picked up the exhaust from JetHot last weekend and started to install it. I also mounted the hood and installed a cool stock looking power antenna from Retro Sound

Thanks

Pat

Amazing car!

I mounted the motor against the outer kick wall, looping the cable 360°. Made a small aluminum L angle that you can just see at the bottom of the picture to hold the motor in place. Sorry I don’t have a better photo.
As for the dash speaker I think I got it from classic industries, it was a dual voice coil 3 x 9. Thanks!

Making progress on the new shop. All the electrical work is complete just waiting for BG&E our local power company to hook up the meter. I was concerned that the slab was a little thin for the two post lift so I opted to cut two 4’x 4’ holes and had two 5’x 5’x 14” slabs poured. Also insulated both of the 12’ x 12’ doors. Cabinets and lift will be here first of the year.

Thanks

Pat

Nice shop. We do a lot of work for BG& E. I work for Miller Pipeline….

What the SQ footage on your shop? Hired out the help or did most of it yourself?

It’s about 1500 sf, as for the work I subbed out the electrical, Drywall, and cement work. The mindless work I did myself;-)

Good job. Im having a pole barn built soon and all this is new to me so just seeing what you did is cool. What lights are u using. How many lumens.thanks jesse

Each 4 x 2 LED panel it’s about 5500 LM each. (link below) There are 3 rows, each with 8 panels and I put each row on its own light switch.
Good luck with your pole building, and whatever size you think you need double it;-)

We are registered for the HotRod power tour this June. Kurt in his Bullitt Mustang and me in the Bullitt Charger. I’m excited to hit the open road with both car! It will be about 2800 miles round trip. It’s been about 9 years since going on the tour with Kurt’s Mustang.

Thanks

Pat

Hi Pat, I'm working on trying to figure out what I want to run for wheels and rear end. I found where you mentioned your wheel specs and you also said you were running a stock 60" rear end. In some of your pictures it looks like you might still have your wheels tucked in a little, but other pictures it looks like maybe not. Can you tell me how much room you have from your tire sidewall to the fender? Does your chrome molding affect the amount of space you have? Appreciate any help.

I am out of town but I can measure it on Friday. I can tell you that there is no rubbing and the stainless steel trim is at least an 1” away.
Thank You
Pat

Will the GTO be going on the power tour?
I didn’t think my son Kurt would have the time to takeoff work and go on the power tour with everything else he has planned for the year. But then he called me and said that he wanted to make the trip. That’s when I switch from taking the GTO to taking the Charger because he was going to drive his Mustang. Can’t drive both of them so the GTO is staying home this year;-)
Thanks
Pat

That will be an epic trip. I've told myself I need to do the power tour one of these years. I'm sure we'll be seeing a write up in Hot Rod about your cars soon!

By the way, please don't try to copy the movie too much - especially the end scene for the Charger!

Enjoy!

New shop update. The power is on, floors are polished and sealed, lift is installed, wall cabinets installed, and the heat/air system up and running! I will be installing the base cabinets this weekend. Should be ready for my car projects soon!

Thanks

Pat
