Modern Bullitt build

Almost ready for Carlisle. Last polish and ready for ceramic coating. A few details left but I did make my own 6 speed Inland shifter knob out of a 4 speed knob. I was unable to find a engraver that could engrave on a curve So I used number stamps and hand carving the new shape. Looks good from arms lengths;-)

Thanks

Pat

Damn that's nice

Smiley Homer drooling.jpg

good luck at Carlisle

Found some vinyl covered trunk storage boxes ($18.00 ea) that fit nicely on either side of the trunk. Made some plastic cleats to hold them in place, yet easily removed. And some 2” foam, cut outs to hold things in place. The box under the fuel fill is where my tire plug kit is, you need to remove the aft box to access tire kit. Now my tools, cleaning gear, rags and air pump with plug kit are neatly stored in stock looking the truck.

Thanks

Pat

Pat: Those would work great for my drive across country. Do you mind posting a link of where you got them?

Thanks,

Hawk

Thank you!!!

I added a plastic 1/4” floor that allowed me to put more weight in the box and attach a cleat on the bottom. If you’re only putting a few pounds in each box it’s not necessary, but for the box that I have my tools in it’s a must!
Thanks
Pat

Carlisle served as a great motivation target to finish this car! After the show we had a magazine shoot! The show was fun, but glad that it’s over and even happier to get home with no problems!

Thanks

Pat

The Charger looked great Pat! My dad and I came and looked at it 4 times between Friday and Saturday. It was easily our favorite car of the entire show!

Pat,

First of all, thank you for coming to the picnic lunch and chatting with us. You are a true craftsman and gentleman too.

I was thrilled to see your car in person - it is truly a spectacular car that you can "discover" for a long time as you see more and more fine details on the car.

Thanks for chatting with me and giving me some inspiration as I continue working on cars - much appreciated!

Put a little over 30 miles on the car this morning. I stopped at a small airport to snap a few pictures by a very cool old hanger. Car ran and performed well! A few small glitches, biggest being the speedometer is not working. I need to troubleshoot if it’s a cable, gear or gauge problem?

Thanks

Pat

Now that the Charger is finished (other than minor tweaks), what's next on the agenda? :)

A woody for my wife;-)
Late 30s or 40s woody wagon built like the Charger, original looking but modern drive train. The plan is to build it together! But now that we have our 1st grandchild not sure how much time she and I will have to work on it. But that’s time better spent!!
Thanks
