This dyno run was at "Dougan's" in Riverside, CA.
Owner Ray Fields and his team were a great help.
I had water coming out of the back of the right side head.
We pulled the valve cover, did some troubleshooting, Ray figured it was a gasket that had not sealed properly. We put it back together and continued with the run.
Multiple hours and 8 gallons of race fuel.
Total cost: $650.

good for you buddy. its a neat experience isn't it. i flew into L-A for a dyno and photo shoot on a brand x motor at westech performance for me. motor was on the cover of engine masters magazine. 823hp-741tq on pump gas.
the only difference between your experience and mine is your lovely assistant. lol:headbang:

Great thread!! Please post static compression ratio, cam specs and ring package specs.

The Hemi is a 1970 "Short-Block".
So, the specifics are all "Factory"
I bought it from Bob Mazzolini Racing, Riverside, CA.
It was in his 1966 Plymouth HEMI Belvedere whic he bought brand new. (Original Hemi car)
He found a date coded 66 block. so he sold me this short block.
I believe it is a extremely LOW mileage 426.
Original parts.
10.25-1 compression
Hydraulic factory cam
Timing was best at 36 degrees total
we did try:
34 degrees
36 degrees
38 degrees
It liked the 36 degrees total.

Again, it is an original 1970 (May 69) short block.

Original parts.
10.25-1 compression (probably has factory style 5/64 rings which are a huge source of friction, relatively speaking)
Hydraulic factory cam (this combined with the CR pretty well dictated the power it made)
Timing was best at 36 degrees total (I would've expected it with all that open chamber at 10.25-1)
we did try:
34 degrees

38 degrees

Again, it is an original 1970 (May 69) short block.
Very nice build and a good representation of a factory 426 hemi!! You should be proud!
