My daughters heart

So here recently my daughter has been experiencing really high resting heart rates >160. She went to a cardiologist who wants to do an ablation.
She is 19 and has never had any health issues unlike my other daughter. She ran track, did pt in ROTC and never complained, but this is scaring her and me as well!
I want her to get a second opinion as qe have no experience with this MD. She said he is telling her it needs to get scheduled asap. My wife spoke to my other daughters Pediatrician about it who said this is more normal in teens than adults, has anyone had to go through this??

Prayers sent. I am on Metoprolol to regulate mine after my open heart surgery. My resting rate will get to 120 or so but the meds keep it in the upper 70's which is good. Get her checked out asap. They will know how to treat it.

My daughter had 3 open heart surgeries - not sure that I can provide much insight except a second opinion is a very wise choice.

Research the "diagnosis" and try to find the "expert" in that area . . . That would provide you the best possible route to move forward . . .

My brother passed away while they were doing ablation procedure. He was under conscience sedation. At one point during the procedure he moved causing one of the probes to puncture his heart.

Her condition is being called Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT).
Confused on how young she is and never having this or similar issues before.

I would also suggest a second or even third opinion, but I would schedule them quickly. SVT is no joke. Her heart rate needs to be brought under control ASAP.

I had a ablation in 2015. It was just like I had taken a nap. I couldn't tell if anything had been done but, it cured my afib.

Write down a list of what she is eating and drinking. And what the source is. Restaurant, made at home, etc. Then any smoking, drinking/drugs/medication? Then what is she doing in her life, constant work? Or school? Stress? Any time to relax? Exercise? Recreation?

Many MD’s won’t do this and want to do procedures instead.

1st off prayers for her.
I only have experience from the old side of the coin. My wife , and other family members.
The ablation worked fine for my 85 yr old mother to correct her afib.
If there is a cardio doc that specializes in young folks that would be the ones to see
Jmho.
Most cardiologists are seeing old folks day in and out.
Sounds like outside of her fast rate she is in good shape, hopefully this will be controlled with medication.
