My dilemma

If these were my cars and I wanted to make the most with the least work......I'd leave the 440-6 in the Coronet, and install the already build 400 in the Challenger. Building new engines for either one is a money loser. If you're getting out of the Mopar business, sell the other engines as cores to make a bit more money. If money and time are no object, the 440-6 in the Challenger will bring the most money, and a street built 440 for the Coronet will do the same.
 
If the '70 440 is ruled out for the Challenger, I would put whatever 440 runs the best in the Challenger with the 440+6 induction and offer the frozen '70 as a package for a few pennies more - let the next guy rebuild it. If you have another running 440, I'd put that in the Coronet; if not, one of the 400s gets badged as a 383. Sell the other engines.
 
It likely has a 383 crank. Put it to TDC and a straight edge across the cylinder. Run some feeler gauges under and see what the deck height is. Are there part # s on the piston
It's a complete engine. I can't run a feeler guage under a, straightedge. I'll look with my borescope and see if there's anything on the top of the piston.

The 70 engine IS the 6 pack engine - and it's not frozen! It's currently in the Coronet, but I'm going to put it in the Challenger. The 72 engine is the one that's frozen. The other two engines are a brand new, never fired, high performance 1977 400 engine with a steel crank, Bullet racing cam with .474 lift, and 215, small chamber heads. The other one is a 1977 440 engine out of a motor home. It's got 45k on it and is in excellent condition. But it's also bone stock 8.5:1 compression, small cam, 200 hp engine. So you think I should put it in the Coronet over the brand new, built 400?
