Hey - have y'all seen this? 1962 Plymouth Fury 2-Door Hardtop
That's a beauty. Probably couldn't restore one for that. Add a set of Cragar's and rock and Roll.Hey - have y'all seen this? 1962 Plymouth Fury 2-Door Hardtop
Well I didn't make it with the Polara. About an hour north it developed a bad surge. Like an engine miss but more subtle. I didn't want to chance it another 2 hour drive so I turned it around and nursed it home. At idle, it runs real slow and a bit rough like it's running off of one side of the 2 barrel. It sure felt like it was fuel related. I checked the filter and the gas was clean, no sediment, and not boiling. The lines were cool to the touch. I have been having hesitation issues with it since I bought it. That will clear up and then re-appear within a few stops. Like something floating around inside the carb and settling in places it doesn't belong. The car came with a Weiand aluminum 4 barrel intake and I have a 650 AVS II to go on. Many here say converting a Poly to a 4 barrel, electronic ignition (I have) and dual exhaust (I also have) really makes a nice difference. That's my next plan. If you have followed along so far, is there any special brackets or the like to make the swap work well?Driving to MITP on Friday. It's always a fun show and only 3 hours away now that it's back in Farmington (Minnesota)
I'll trade ya!Damn old cars. I got the car out and took it to a local show this afternoon. It ran fine, no surging but I only drove it 15 min at a time. The accelerator pump is still wonky. Sometimes it hesitates and sometimes it doesn't .
The left brake lights weren't working. Turn signals do so I know the bulbs and ground is good. Dark green wire in the harness. I traced it back to the connector at the drivers kick panel. The damn things started working. I'll be darned if I can find an open anywhere in the harness. Now I can't make them not work again. Even if stuff doesn't work, I still like the ol' girl.

WOW that's pretty crazy. At least you know what makes it not work. My TS switch seems to work and cancel but it does feel wonky when using it for right turns. Kind of a mushy feel.My 64 is the same. I have an NOS switch but can't be bothered to change it. Wiggle the signal light lever both brake lights work. Turn left and let it self cancel I lose the left brake light. Wiggle... both work again.
Nice! What's under the hood and what does she run? She's all loaded up heading to the track for the weekend exercises View attachment 1864286
Yep... like a worn out wh.... ! Mine's the same, wiggle and it works again. At least one brake light always works... so it's legal..lolWOW that's pretty crazy. Thanks for posting that. I replaced the turn signal switch last year and everything was fine. I go to the car show on Sunday and my left brake light isn't working but the turn signals are. I will check the dark green wire.Damn old cars. I got the car out and took it to a local show this afternoon. It ran fine, no surging but I only drove it 15 min at a time.
