Well I didn't make it with the Polara. About an hour north it developed a bad surge. Like an engine miss but more subtle. I didn't want to chance it another 2 hour drive so I turned it around and nursed it home. At idle, it runs real slow and a bit rough like it's running off of one side of the 2 barrel. It sure felt like it was fuel related. I checked the filter and the gas was clean, no sediment, and not boiling. The lines were cool to the touch. I have been having hesitation issues with it since I bought it. That will clear up and then re-appear within a few stops. Like something floating around inside the carb and settling in places it doesn't belong. The car came with a Weiand aluminum 4 barrel intake and I have a 650 AVS II to go on. Many here say converting a Poly to a 4 barrel, electronic ignition (I have) and dual exhaust (I also have) really makes a nice difference. That's my next plan. If you have followed along so far, is there any special brackets or the like to make the swap work well?
