My solution for those funky top windshield trim clips.

I think anyone that replaced a headliner in a 1965 is familiar with the 4 clips of which I speak. They were probably speedy on the assembly line and cheap but, are really a one-use item. Well, I had issues, so I redesigned the attachment, and it was simple! I flattened out the clips on a piece of 1/2" bar stock (anvil) center punched for a hole and drilled out to 3/16". Next, I trimmed out the headliner material around the roof edge holes so the rivet nut flanges would sit flat, drilled to 19/64 (for 10-32 nuts), set the rivet nuts and screwed on the clips. A much better attachment for the trim.
