NEED PRAYERS- MORE FIRES!

Thanks everyone. I have just been posting at end of thread from time constraints & incessant communication issues with family & friends. I will back up and read everything later. I think our place will be ok. A source just told me the 747 just flew over our houses.
I'm in OR now and starting to unwind.
Had a great drive up after the smoke cleared just after Redding, 100 crow flying miles from the fire!
Made friends at fuel stops.
This family was COOL. Their little boy started yelling about 'That car!' and Dad, Mom & Mom-in-law were soon to follow. They swarmed it taking pictures of themselves with it from every angle while I was pumping Ethyl. It kind of embarrassed me...
When the pump clicked off they were still doing it so I asked them if they'd like one of the whole family with it.
OH MY! You can not imagine the genuine joy that gave them! I told them I couldn't move in to the sun because I had a cat in there and they just started posing and I started snapping with their phones. Good stuff! Blabbed with them about 20 minutes answering questions. They were the most appreciative and considerate people who have ever approached me (yes, I know, it's the CAR).

Came out from another and saw this one.
My jaw dropped and I just hollered out "Thank you! That is the best thing I've seen all day."
He said, "Is that your Charger?"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "That's the best thing I'VE seen all day"
The we talked awhile about the car & their bear hunting trip they were headed for.

My place is right under the flame symbol on the map.
EDIT!: I enlarged the map and I'm N of the flame but still on edge of fire.
It is probably 3-4 miles away from the house.
Fire burned 85K more acres yesterday.
I saw it is 15% contained which is good, it has been 0% until now.

Can't find one of KiKi Garden Kitty but I have a good one of her trotting off with a fat gopher in her mouth.
So there's 4/5ths of them.
A bonus Bo-Bo picture (because he is so handsome):

I got him 16 years ago as a feral kitten. Right after that I was off work for 6 months recovering from injury and taught him to fetch & retrieve, sit and speak (because I like DOGS!). I'm not kidding-have videos of it.
Best, smartest cat EVER!

I have safely evac'd as far as I'm going and beginning to relax now. Thank you LORD!
I must say it was a very interesting trip. As I wasn't in a hurry I took more time than usual lollygagging along meeting & talking to interesting people.
While fueling in Eugene a guy approached me and started the the usual comments and then questions. You all know what I mean. Then he asked if I had a length of fuel line as he wanted to bypass his water seperator for whatever reason. Well, I did have some but it was going to be a major ordeal to get at it due to my frenetic throwing of stuff in the car to get out of Dodge. Pun intended.
I told no (because I had another plan).
His story was he'd been there 2 days because of a fuel delivery issue. He kept repeating that he was a mechanic.
His hands looked like he could have been but I was wondering.
He had picked up a female hitchkikernthat said she'd be back with help but ditched him. There is more to the convoluted story but never mind that. I asked if he had check at the Chevron station you could see about 1/8th mile up the road. He said "What?! Way up there?!"
And I said "Dude! You been here 2 days!"
I asked the attendant where a parts store was ran in to town & got him some line, clamps & startng fluid.
That's what he wanted. Well it took a good while to go, get and come back. When I got there I said "I bet you'd just about gave up on me". He said "Oh, I think I had a clog in the line back there. I just pushed something out".
I rolled my eyes and said I'd pray for him & he grabbed my hand and I did. Then I left thinking- GOOD GRIEF!

I'm headed back, wife isn't. I am 'needed' at work so I drove 500 miles & ended up in Willows again. Another 150ish tomorrow and I'll be there.
House is still under mandatory evacuation so my wife will come back later whenever that is.
Had a lovely trip in the old car. It just burbles along almost hypnotically for an hour or two at a time and then, while I am in some state of reverie, an admirer will lay on their horn just behind my head and startle the **** out of me while they drive by all smiles & thumbs up. Oh well...

I'm on the East side of Sacramento, and i have a white car that looked like it was parked in a coal mine overnight.
There is so much ash in the air from the fire, and i can only imagine what it's like for air quality close to the center of the fire.

OP was evacuated and worried for the safety of his home and property. Your car got dirty. Man, I really hope that you can overcome all of that. :jackoff:

@hemi71x Hi! Yes these fires are ruining the air & the fallout is going 100+ miles. Today is really bad way over/up in in Willows and only going to get worse.
I'd just got over my sore nose and throat from the smoke and here we go again...

SAFE & SOUND at home. No losses 'cept a few dried up plants. Back to work Moanday.
Thank you Jesus!

Yes, thank the lord that you are safe and the damage was minimal.

I love the truck decal & that State of Jefferson sign

we really do have some great people here in California still
vast majority outside the cities are great people
truly caring & personable people
California is full of rural communities, with some truly great people
most of California is rural & you rarely or never hear anything about
especially the people, unless you live here or was born here...
All you ever hear about is the bad ****,
SF LA or Sacramento Leadership ****

thanks for showing what it's really like

thanks for your postings

glad to hear "most everything is good still too"
