Thats the blocks casting date 5/17/67

Did you not read a previous post on where the vin # is stamped on a 68 block/trans...ITS BEHIND THE OIL SENDING UNIT by the firewall...(see pic below)

What about the ID stamp pad I attached a picture above?

8 3/4 pumpkin is the part number...referred to as the 489 case...Best case to have it has the largest pinion...

Went down to the shop today & got the pic's. Pad says D383 1 23.

So would you all agree this looks like this is a #'s matching car with the 5809 from the VIN?
