New 73 rallye 440 owner here : D

Hello , my name is pat , I am from Pittsburgh and I'm finally getting todo my first muscle car for myself, I have worked on many car projects for friends , but that was back in the good old days,

What I have aquired is a 1973 charger rally edition , 440 .be believed to be 1 of 713 of the 73 440's but that number may be lower I can not find out how many rallye editions had the 440.

Now the engine, the engine that came with the car is
1969 440 supposedly from a super bee,
Working on number now to confirm.


the car its self is in great shape , it was someone else's project that I'm taking over all rot work has been done , driver floor pan , passengers quarter panel,
All original interior only needs the bottom of the bucket seat redone and a head liner..
I do have detail body work todo, rewire, and to assemble it.

My interest here is to find out more information, and maybe help locating some parts

What I'm in seach of right now is
Tail light bezels, driver and passenger side, I see lens for sale but can not find bezels.

Would love to see some pictures of your project. Bezels are not reproduced and very hard to find. I suggest you keep looking while you reassemble and some will turn up. If you manage to get NOS, you will pay a lot for them and good second hand are hard to get. Maybe try Tonys Parts, he is a vendor on here.

Cool.

Those reclining seats are pretty rare.

I'd be interested to see the mechanism to see if something later is the same design.

I am so on the fence about it , my goal was a "punch you in the throat " kinda street/strip hot rod ..I never would of thought I would find a car like this one ..
I don't know (and it's driving me crazy )
The hard core numbers guys will hate on me if I don't ...but part of the American love of cars is we make them our own in our own ways ... ugh...

I'd have fun with it since its not the numbers matching motor ,and no one really cares what we do with the 3rd gen charger s most people hate them. Make it how you want it it's your car I got my 72 rallye and I'm really ignoring the build sheet on this one . Good luck looks sweet
