New Garage

I did a little measuring and found out my battery charger fits perfect in between the two base cabinets...

Put down a couple pcs of rough cut lumber at the bottom and filled the back with metal panels...

I'm still undecided whether to put one countertop across everything or just use 2 separate countertops...

A couple pics of the finished pocket doors...

I started hanging drywall in the working bay...

It makes it nice since the pieces I cut for the bulkhead only need about 1/2" cut off of them and they work for the walls...

No waste...

Problem is there isn't one sheet to hang that doesn't have to have a box cut in it or an opening of some type...

I finished all but 1 piece of drywall hanging today...

I have one small piece I can't hang until my HVAC guy gets the mini-splits tied in...

Decided to put wood and trim in the small high section where the refrigerator is...

It now matches everything else...

1st thing in the morning I have to mix up a bucket of mud and start taping the joints and hitting the screws...

Dug out my stilts...It's been a little while since I've been on them but they make everything so much easier...

I am going to cheat on all of the inside corners using Ultraflex rather than regular tape...

Thx...

Tape coat went off without any problems...

Dragging the knife over everything on the first coat will usually reveal any major issues...

Now just need to wait for everything to dry so I can do the block coat...

Mine? Epoxy paint before it got occupied. Got all of the pictures/posters/sign etc before the epoxy went on. The garage looked huge then. Once it got filled up, no.

I gotta figure something out for the car storage side...

It's only about 22' x 26'...roughly 575 sq. ft.

Not too worried about the side I'll be working in all of the time...

The majority of my equipment is on wheels. Makes it easy to pack them into as small a space as possible. You have plenty of cabinets going so that frees up some of the lower wall space. It may take you a few times to get the best fit/placement on stuff. It did for me. Most of my east wall is shelves as I planned for that. 9' ceiling on that side with 6' high units. There is a framed out section in the south wall, covered by drywall, that I'll put a door in down the road. The door will be 4' above the floor there so I'll make a landing with steps coming down. In between the steps will be shelves/racks so I can store steel material and get it off the floor. I'll figure out something for the sheet material. There is more equipment I would love to have, stomp shear/slip roller/press but it would make it too tight for room.

My garage isn't big enough for all of the sheet metal tools...

I'd have to get rid of a car or something...

For now I have all the walls and bulkheads taped...blocked...skimmed and sanded...

Even hit a little point-up...

Everything is cleaned up with the walls wiped down of dust and most of the dust off the floors...

Cleaned up the top of the black trims and taped them so I don't get any spatter on them from the roller...

I picked up 5 gallons of Pro Mar Sherwin Williams primer this morning...

1st thing in the morning its ready for the prime coat...

Once that's dry it gets a light sand to even all the textures and then time for paint...

Hopefully after prime it won't need to be pointed up...

It really just needs to be functional and somewhere to work that doesn't seem like a dungeon...

I bought 5 gallons of the Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 200 primer and got everything primed...

It dried and then got sanded...

The finish came out really smooth I think its going to work really good...

I thought the ceilings were ready for paint and realized I didn't want to install the frames around the storage openings after everything was painted...

I used the 2 1/2" MDF boards with primer and built the frames and then installed them...

I did use some ceiling paint and put a coat on one frame and installed the access panel...

I think it's going to work out fine...

I also make it a habit of caulking around all of the electrical boxes to the drywall to prevent any air transfer...

In the case of a ceiling sometimes it will keep flying bugs from getting above the led light lens...

So the prime coat was finished...then sanded...

First coat of ceiling paint went on and was also then sanded...

Second coat of ceiling paint went on it turned out really good...

Installed the lights in the bulkheads so I have them for the wall painting when everything is ready...

Installed all of the trim on the one window and at all of the doors...

Plygem trim is basically PVC and is 3/4" thick and 3 5/8" wide...
