He is restoring a 1970 charger rt for his friend. They were doing the body work on it and the panel below the speaker tray they did not know its purpose. Nick said that if anyone knows it would be on For B Bodies Only. Did anyone reply to him? Piece their talking about is around 14 minute mark.

I asked this before as well.

The only sensible answer that I got was that it was a stiffening structure for the otherwise unsupported Dutchman panel.

I was just going to say the same thing. When I did my quarters my buddy asked me the same question. I just said dutchman reinforcement and possibly an anti rattle oil metal canning suppressor.

Nick said they dont reproduce them, his body guy had someone make one.

Im reaching but because of the way the window is doesnt the have to do with the aerodynamics and the downward force of the *** end? That would explain the bigger support needed in the back.

Not a bad thought......I do like the idea of protection for the rear demister fan also.
