No Worries!!!

all you guys can head south we got plenty of room down here, you all are welcome bring your cars with you,we are lucky if we get a little snow each winter down here, last year was the biggest snow we have had in decades in georgia, i think we had about 2 inches and a little ice,but of course everything was shut down around here people can barley drive in the summer here, you can imagine what a little snow will do around here people stayed in for about two days the roads were iced over, but that is the exception not the rule around here,we have had winters with the temps in the 70 s for the most part of one winter a few years ago,i love the north but only in the summer best wishes guys.

That's it!! I've stood on that sidewalk as it's 1/2 block from my bank. Where did you get that shot? As you can imagine, they are a bit behind on clean up there.

Thanks Daryn! You're right.....No one need's all that, but sure makes life more enjoyable! LOL. Pic was taken by a couple fella's from work headed over from Champion to Marquette. Small world eh? lol.

Man I'm feeling lucky! Today is our first cold day in a while (33) and we still haven't seen any snow other than a couple small flurries that melted as soon as it hit the ground. I'm usually ready for winter after a hot summer but this summer was pretty mellow (musta been global warming) plus the fact that I have to put the car away has me dreading it this year.

I hear ya. Putting the car to bed is a bummer. For me, the burn of that is extinguished by knowing hunting and late fall fishing season is here. Too bad this year the lakes are already froze or freezing over, and i'm pretty sure i'm going to need my sled to get to the tree stand. Ugggh!

Prop If I had one of those sleds, I'd like winter more probably too

not my season usually

I use to love the winter & winters sports especially skiing, about 100 days a year
& riding my quad rooster-tailing everywhere...
BUT;
NOW, I just don't care for cold or the snow at all anymore,
maybe because it represents, just more damage & work for me constantly,
around all my families properties now, clearing off roofs & decks etc...

Thanks Man! The sled is an absolute blast to ride. The Doo is really starting to rack up the miles now, but it's dialed in perfect & all the goodies really make it outperform anything rolling off the floor, I'd really hate to sell it. Kinda like having an old reliable pick-up or that old worn out recliner that's beat-up, but is just too comfortable to part with. I'd go nutz with cabin fever if I didn't have a sled to ride or had a chance to go ice fishing.

Thanks Johnny. Been through Georgia several times and loved it. Folks are super nice and and the countryside is beautiful. Lotta woods! I think once all the bangs and bruises of life catch up with me, and the winter around here really spins it up, I could really see living somewhere like Georgia come the cold months.

You got any pic's of that bad boy Ron? My dad had a Wheel-Horse back in the day. Good machine... Traded it for a Ford LTD with some thrown valves. Guess i'm starting to get old because even when doing work with a tractor I'm having a blast.

Hey Daryn...When did you move to Eagle River? My plot in the sticks is about 35miles to the east of you (when you're not soaking up tropical rays in FLA).

Damn, you're kidding. I bet I ride right passed your place quite a bit. I head over to Iron Mountain to check on my store there. I bought my place last year in the fall. On Musky Lake just west of Eagle river on County G.
Are you close to 70? You don't have to post an exact location. I might head up there for Thanksgiving or Christmas yet this year. We'll definitely have to throw a few back next summer fer sure. I found out that I was going to be a grandfather right after I sold the house in Marquette. Kinda made me want to have a place close by to see the little one.
Small world is right...lol

Trust me buddy, you don't want it. I just couldn't take it any longer after 47 years in the north with six and a half months a year without green. I finally snapped when I realized I could make it happen to get a place in the south.
It has it's downfalls down here, like too many people, but I keep in my area and don't venture out too much. I'm really here for the weather more than anything. However, It amazes my that a state made of sand has so little on the roads and up north there's tons of sand on the roads all the time.
It's good to hear from you too,

Daryn

Had the first couple frosty mornings, so I cut the grass yesterday. Hopefully for the last time this year....

Will, I apologize and i will get you a picture of the Wheelhorse, My granddad and i restored it about 30 years ago (not showing well now) give or take two lol, been awhile and as small as it is she will push some snow! Id love to have a dollar for every square yard ive plowed with it, and Daryn its good to know your in a place more comfortable, I don't think i would really want to move but the last part of the winter seems to take its toll waiting for that first robin to sing in the AM and tell me spring IS coming now-ah-days!!! :) Getting older has it's draw backs for sure...

Wow Ron.........That's awesome! Restored with your grandfather 30 years ago and still going. Impressive! I can't imagine how many miles that puppy has on it.

Congrat's on the new addition to the family Daryn! I know right where you're at...Cloverland area. Been through there, just to north of you many, many times on the 10 corridor snowmobile trail. Real nice area you moved to! Next time you're up there, swing up to Conover and go to Bill & Tori's " Log Cabin bar & grill". Best dang homemade deep dish pizza around! If you've had it already, you know what I mean. 12 Pines east of Eagle River is also a real good place for chow. I'm about 6 miles past Tipler to the east, down hwy70. Then about 2 miles north up a gravel National Forest road from there. I'm still in the National Forest and off to the east side of my property is the Whisker Lake Wilderness Area. I should have the cabin up by next late June/early July. I'm definitely up for a few cold ones with ya! Just let me know when you're around and I'll sail you the National Forest Road # and my fire address number.
