On to the NEXT issue….

bend the arm till it shows just under half, fill it, then see where its at, then run the gas out, with a gallon can in your trunk. trial and error, good luck.

Providing a link might be actual help, sir.

Oh, same comment directed at @ruffcut - especially since when I go to the Vans site and pull up sending units,
I don't see one listed for our b-bodies:
You searched for sending unit - Vans Auto
Maybe I'm just blind...
Hey Ed, I'm presently looking for the receipt for the part in question. Will post when or if I can find it. And if I'm wrong(which happens occasionally) I will admit it. I will post where I bought it. Dave

Thanks. The link:
Sending Unit 3/8" Mopar 1968 - 1970 B-Body
It says something about being designed to work with "the aftermarket tanks" and that it might need modified
to work with stock tanks? I dunno.... Made in Taiwan.

This unit is also available at Roseville.
Well Ed, all I can say is it works in the Stainless tank I also bought from them and it is working with the original gauge in the dash.
And I'm sure you know a lot of these parts are made off shore.
That's my 2 cents.
Dave

My Charger just completed a 2-1/2 year restoration of the body and engine rebuild. Before that it lived permanently in the garage since 1996 but the fuel and other gauges were always fairly accurate during its driving days. The gas tank was removed during the restoration and then reinstalled. As far as I know the sending unit is still original.
The car is now roadworthy, but only since last week. I've been using 93 octane non-ethanol, filling two gallons at a time since the only stations with that fuel are 12 miles in either direction. It should have about 8 or 10 gallons in the tank, but the gauge reads only just above empty. What has changed in the fuel system is new wiring from M&H. The temp gauge also works but only shows 170 deg. when the engine should be totally warmed up. I'll know more when I can take it on a longer drive. Has anybody had similar issues with M&H wiring?

I don't think it's a wiring issue per say. Maybe a ground issue though
