Hi All,

I want to tighten up the rear end on my 65 coronet, and am considering fitting a panhard bar/rod. The issue is that the shock angles and tightness of the parts makes getting a decent length a challenge.

Has anyone successfully fitted/fabricated one?

One option i am considering is a bult-on mount in the pinion snubber location - Would this work?

Many thanks for your help in advance

Steve

Leaf springs with good bushings should be all you need. My cars are not "loose" like I'm thinking that you are dealing with.
I have never seen a Panhard bar on a leaf spring setup.

I was thinking something like seen here:

Quick Changeover: Adding a Halibrand Rearend

We have a fair few corners round here, so little improvements make a difference. I Know the steering is vague but through the twisties round here my car constantly has the feeling of stepping out at the back and movement within the rear axle area. Any way i can test? Bushes are all whole/complete at least, although i'd wager the leafs are pretty soft by now (Original parts). Do you guys recommend polyeurathane?

My fabricated panhard mounts (store-bought bar kit) on my 65 Belvedere. As you can see, I switched axle housings during the build. I'm sorry now I didn't go straight to a Strange 60. Note the use of a drag race antisway bar too. I welded in thick-walled tube spacers inside the frame rails to prevent crushing the area.

Thanks Mike. I Assume this requires relocation of the fuel tank? Do you have a link to the anti-sway bar?
