Post your 12 second combos

The two shade trees were calling my name more than the social distancing...haha!

Which trw pistons?
It's been a long time since I built the engine. But, they are the low compression stock replacement pistons. 9 to 1. From what I've read these are actually lower than that. I had the heads cut .030, and the intake side of the head was cut to keep intake alignment.

very cool. I was very happy with the times I ran, but it was so close to the 11's. Now the engine is tired. Debating on whether to stroke it, or just rebuild with upgrades.

Bigger cam-bigger carb-bigger intake- bigger converter!!

We raced this 440 engine in the past in a 69 dart. We want to build a 12 second car and we have a 66 Coronet 500 383, it’s stock with buckets seats now a 440 with Ross flat tops around 10.5 to 1,440 source h beam rods, steel crank, 525 lift comp cam I forget the duration right now,Mancini 1.6 ratio rockers on out of the box Trick Flow 240 heads, M1 manifold, 950 Hp Holley. Cheap dented headers, 10 inch turbo action med. converter. 8.8 inch Ford rear with 3.70 gears. Mono leafs and Caltracs not tubbed, stock 727 with a shift kit. This engine ran a best of 10.70 in a 3400 lb Dart with Indy EZ heads and 584 lift cam and Far better pro parts headers. We hope to make it very consistent, but not go faster than 11.50 the 12s will be fine.

Think you can beat a Hellcat? in the quarter?

Not likely unless he was lazy on the tree and spun really bad. Not sure why you would pose the question.

Not a chance.Mid 12's aren't gonna cut it against any hellcat unless Helen Keller is driving.

Changing the camshaft from a hydraulic comp cams xe284h to a hughes solid stl5054bs3-08,resulted in better et's.
Best with the comp cam

Best with solid hughes cam

Same track both runs and good traction.
Still feels slow after 5000rpm, thought this issue would be solved going to the solid cam, but it was not.
Next up is to swap the old mopar electronic dizzy for a msd pro billet. Hope this will fix the issue.

Laying down at higher rpm, especially with a solid cam, is most often weak valve springs.
