I think my pitman arm seal is leaking. i was reading my service manual it says special tools are needed to replace them. Is there any other way to replace them if not where can I find these tools. sp-305,c-3350-a,sp-1932, sp-1601 and sp-5148?

This isn't the answer you want to hear, but you "might" consider a new/rebuilt steering box. If you have a true survivor car, then maybe you can find someone in your area to rebuild the box or ship it somewhere to get rebuilt.

I added some of the lucas power steering stop leak. Lots of good reviews. The leak isn’t that bad a few drops here and there. If that Temporary stop the leak ill hold off if not . I might have to rebuild or replace the box then.

Off-hand can't bring up name, but there's a good rebuilder in Columbus,Oh. if you need in future.

Drop the pitman arm then there should be a grease seal, dig that out with a pick or screw driver. Then remove snap ring and retainer. The seal will still be in there so put the pitman arm lighty back on then lower the car on the ground and turn the steering wheel back and forth so the seal blows out. Drive in the new one with a suitable size pipe.

Are you absolutely sure it's the Pittman arm seal?

That's what i thought mine was, but after much closer inspection it turned out to be the input shaft seal, and was relatively easy* to replace.

The drip came from the Pittman arm, but the leak was directly above it.
