While the engine was sitting on a stand,i removed the thermostat, put on the old rad hoses blocked the end of the lower and did similar to the upper, reducing it down to 1/4'' pipe thread to accommodate a test gauge. Blocked off heater hoses and filled it with 50 50 anti freeze. I put about 15psi and checked for leaks. I did this a couple of times as i had trouble with the setup i used leaking. My last attempt it held pressure for almost a hour before almost draining down, but i think some of my setup was leaking air ever so small
No water in the oil,no water that i could tell of in the cylinders,no other visible leaks anywhere. So what do you think,am i good to go?????

Usually good to check them but once it heats up to operating temps when running, things can always change.......

I cap the top and bottom pump outlets stick and pressure gauge in one heater hose port and a female air hose coupler in the other, also remove the spark plugs. Forget the fluid's and fill with air to 125 psi. If it holds pressure for 1 hr. I consider it good if not I start looking for leaks. And have yet to blow out a good freeze plug. Leaks can be found easly with a stethoscope or spray bottle of soapy water.
