Pretty Cool for $500

I know you guys probably don't think much of a 318, but I picked this up for 500 Bucks. Came with everything to get it running, plus a 2 brand new 1406 eddy carbs. It was some kid who didn't know what he had. Came with all the machine shop reciepts. Only thing was it sat for 4 months after the work.

Specs:

Bored .30
JE High Comp pistons with valve reliefs (gotta degree the cam before I can check the compression)
New Lunati Cam with lifters
Milled crank
New bearings
New freeze plugs
New Rods
Heads were just cleaned up Already bolted them on before I took pics. All fresh, hasn't been broken in.



Originally had a 360 in the car, but it ended up being a little too radical. Going to sell it to my brother so he can put it in his 91 dakota.

Good buy! I did 318 rebuilt for my wife's car,line bored,bored .30 over new Pistons ,cam &bearings . Spent over $1200 just on short block

Ahh, that's good to hear. For me! For some reason I don't think the kid owned it before the work. He thought it was a 88 Block with cast pistons. He painted it black and red.... (ford guys).

Hah, but I told him I'd take it off his hands for $500 and he said ok. Later to find out it was a 68, bored with new pistons etc. Got me excited.

Nothing wrong with a 318. One of the most reliable engines ever.

Date code was 4/16/68 Driverside of the block.

2536030 318-5, I want to say that means La block? I'll have to look it up. Not sure off the top of my head. This is located on the passenger side.
