I have always liked the Daytona's. My first car was an '89 Daytona Shelby that I still have 25 years later. Completely stripped the car and redid it in 2005. I always wanted to find an Iroc R/T to have, but after redoing my Shelby gave up trying to find one.

Nice Turbo Z, there ain't nothing "Mitsubishi" about that car I've owned several turbo-dodges my first car was a 87 Shelby Z and here is my current CSX-T #614.

You know, when I first saw the price of these, I balked, as I have the basic chemical extinguisher. But then I thought: "How much time/money/love/memories/etc." are invested my car? This is a small price to pay to prevent it from going up in flames! We pay insurance, hoping that we'll NEVER have to use it...is this any different??

Totally agree. Whether you use Halotron, one of those Element units, or some other clean type of extinguisher, they are all worth the insurance. Ask any guy whose car is burning if he is willing to spend $150 to save it!!!

i don't think it was the fire extinguisher that really saved the day. He disconnected the battery....otherwise it would have just kept burning, long after the extinguisher was empty......QUICK THINKING SAVED THE DAY.

Airplane fire... master off, close all air inlets, find extinguisher, pull pin on extinguisher, take the deepest damn breath you ever have in your life and hold. Pull trigger and spray in direction of fire. Keep holding breath.. keep holding.. open window and stick your head out for fresh air. Fire still burning, glide that fawker in.....

Open window at 5000 ft ??

Why not? I fly with the window open 1/2 the time in the Winter..

remember back in the 70s when I doing a burnout at capitol raceway as i was doing the burnout a puff of smoke can out from under the dash man am i glad i had bolted it next to the shifter a good lesson learned!
better to be safe than sorry lucky one wire shorting out

Great advice! I carry one in the trunk, but have often thought I should also mount one inside the car. I try to get that done!
