So i´ve finally picked up my Intake here in Ottawa and will be taking it back home with me.

I know there are a few here that already installed one and i´m curious where i connect the vaccuum hose going to my brake booster (does not have a connector), if there is a bracket avaiable to fit the accel cable and why it does have height differences for the carb mounts???

Hi Joerg, one person to talk to would be Meep Meep. He seems to have alot of experience with the six pak set up, as well as the STR in various carb combinations. I believe that intake requires alot of tuning to get it set up properly. C Ya

I agree my uncle knows tons about em, hell mopars in general....but today might not be the best day to talk to him about it lol.......his first time out at the track today (sacramento) netted in less than stellar results....he will get it right but it get stumbling out of the hole today.........I was ribbin him but I bet it was frustrating to slow down from the afb.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me! The worst was cutting an .006 light then having the car clock out for lunch 5 feet out of the gate :angryfire:

Yep, the factory 6 BBL fell flat on it's face with slicks and a good bite. On the street you can't keep the tires from spinning. I got's me some thinkin' to do!

Joerg, the short answer is you don't. But you can drill and tap a hole if you want.

The angled carb mounts are to compensate for the slight engine tilt as it sits in the car. I never ran the STR-6 but did play with the 4 BBL version a long time ago. I hope you have access to a chassis dyno. This intake is a fuel distribution nightmare but will perform well once you dial it in.

I seen you rocket forward like an animal about 25 feet and thought you were on your way to your best et at a bare minimum, then i seen and HEARD the stumble and said...uh oh....

Wow, Meep Meep, sorry to hear bout that. Maybe secondary comin in too quick? Trial and error. My 451 RR was runnin 13.66 at Bandimere Wed nite, then slowed down when I put the slicks on. Then it wouldn't back up anymore like brakes locking. Made 3 more passes after that! But still locking up in reverse. I try to fix it tuesday. C Ya

Yeah, it totally sucked! My cast iron intake and 750 AFB went 12.80 and today I couldn't get out of the 13's. It could be too much carb too soon but it could also be fuel spilling out of the bowl vent and causing flooding. As court said, the car came out like a raped ape for a short time then fell on its face. Time to start thinking. The good news is the 4.10's I put in were a better choice than the 4.30's that I had. RPM through the lights is now about 6100.
