anyone care to guess the theory and principals, for fan shroud off-sets,
just curious, some are centered, some off-set to driverside, some to passenger, designers were thinkin something , but what was it ?????

My guess is it had everything to do with streamlining the manufacturing of these cars and keeping the cost to build them down. The shroud is a cheap part to manufacture in whatever configuration it was needed. The core support was a stamped out part of the chassis that was welded in place on every car and if those could be made the same on every car regardless of what width rad was being mounted to them the cheaper the cost to build. Any differences in the location of the fan relative to the radiator was made up in the form of the shroud.
