RESTOMOD SEATS...WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Hello, friends!
I am restoring my 70 Charger RT and it´s time to work in the interior. I want something mild, respecting original style but with racing capabilities.
TMI looks a very good option...

I am also thinking in doing something by myself, modificating the original one...I attach a pic of a cheap-photoshop design I have done. What do you think? What do you have?

What kind of racing? The original seats in my 70 are very comfortable, but the lower bolsters could be taller for cornering; straight line they are fine. I honestly have considered putting Ram seats in mine as the lower and side bolsters are larger and with katskin covers, retain a very similar shape to the original 70's.
Just one man's opinion.

When I do my seats, I'm going with these. Keeps the low back look, but should be way more comfortable and hold you in your seat alot better.

I've got a full set of 2014 Dodge Challenger seats, front and back that are going in my 1967 Belvedere convertible . . they are very comfortable

I used a set of of Eclipse GT front buckets, 25 bucks a piece from a u-pull junkyard, new custom leather covers off ebay for 300 for the pair. They fit absolutely perfect in my dart.

I have these seats in my 70 GTX. They are comfortable on lang hauls for sure. I had the car on a road course for an entire day and the seats never crossed my mind all day until I was done and realized how "not worn out" I was.

I'm probably going with either the Procar 1300, Sparco R100 or the SickSpeed Gajin if I decide not to use the factory seats in my 67.
Your design looks great but I would be worried that the harness opening would be so narrow that the belts would rub on your neck...

I like the the pro Viper a lot and the sell a seat mount for the 68. Plus it weights 33 lbs. and just under $1900 for a pair with mount it looks like a nice choice. I want to sit in one to see how it feels with my 6'6" and 36" waist frame.

Those are pretty nice!!! I think the first place I saw that style was the Ring Bros Mustang...
I'm not 6'6" but am a not a small guy either so I've been watching the seat widths too.
There are only a couple of mfgs that I've found that have a little bigger hip bolster ( racing seat type), I think most are in the 20" range.
Thats one of the reasons I like the ProCars. I had the standard Jegs type racing seat and it was pretty snug at the hip...

Mines 2003 Chrysler Sebring buckets and Chryser 300 rears. They were both leather that I had just planned on bolting in but didn't like the pattern so I had them reupholstered with 2" pleats to give it a more classic look.

I picked up some used Corbeaus. Very comfy. I wouldn’t want any more side bolstering. It would make it hard to get out.

After spending an entire day at the salvage yard I have narrowed my choice down to 80-94 Jaguar XJS seats. They are wide enough to fill the b-body and have nice bolsters. Most importantly there is zero plastic on them. I currently have a retro set of Recaro,s I got for cheap and I was going to recover but they are just to narrow for the b-bodies.

I went with the legendary rally seat covers to keep the original look and Frame but with a more comfortable seat.

I was looking at a set of Corbeau seats for my Charger. I wanted the suede/leather combo. A local Mustang restoration parts dealer had a display seat in their store so I went to give it a try. I figure that it makes sense to actually sit in a seat before placing a custom $1800 order. I was not impressed. It felt too stiff for me. I am medium sized, 5'10 and 195 lbs so its not as if I am a huge guy. I'd sat in a friends car, a Neon R/T that he had put SRT4 seats in. I liked them and decided to seek them out. I bought a pair for $400 and made my own adapter brackets. They are non power, very supportive and weigh less than my stock seats. I'm quite happy with them but I think the Corbeaus would have smelled better...Oooohh Leather and suede!

Mine from an 89 Daytona FWD rolled over. In since 90. Shopping for used OEM's. Maybe new Challenger. Lots of possibilities. Power would be nice. Don't need heat. Already over-taxed the electrics.

That's the beauy of junkyard shopping, you get to sit in every seat before purchasing. I tried a few seats at Summit and wasn't impressed at all, as far as I'm concerned OEM seats are of the highest quality although I've never seen the Corbeau seats.

I have the Corbeau seats like in the post pic above. They are VERY comfortable. The side bolster is just right for both support when carving turns as well as ingress/egress. Greg, you can take a whiff whenever you want as I covered them in real leather;-)
