Roadkill and other car related TV shows

I curse at the car at times but I’m sure I curse at work way more. I work from home and this is when I’m not in a video meeting but I’m often wondering out loud wtf kind of @#$$ is this? Stupid mot@#$%^&s!

I have been hugely pissed many, many times when working on cars. However, since 95% is in my own garage, I have learned to simply walk away when I get pissed. I just set down whatever tool I have in my hand, shut out the lights and walk away. I have learned over the years that if I don't, bad things can happen...

I threw something across the room and it bounced off the windshield of the Max one time. A new windshield went with the car when I sold it.

I occasionally go full retard when working on cars...tools fly, screaming and cursing, sometimes things get smashed. Once, after removing a 340 from a 73 roadrunner project/ parts car, the cherry picker got caught on a pebble, the engine started swinging sending antifreeze flying everywhere. I completely lost it. I hit that cherry picker like a tackle dummy sending it, with the engine, flying out the door of the barn directly into the front end of the roadrunner I had just pushed out. Then smashed the beer bottle I was drinking into the carnage. Cherry picker was totaled, as was both front fenders and the grill of the 73. 2 minutes later I felt stupid and spent hours trying to clean up my mess.

:rofl: I can envision every single part of this post… Thanks for the morning laugh!

I never got in to watching the car, or other, "reality" shows. I have my own every time I'm in the garage working. Or working around the house. Thats true reality. Not scripted fluff.

How come we never see the guys on these shows get angry ?
I saw a couple of episodes of "Fired up Garage" where the boys were fighting with John Klump...... but of course most of it was possibly staged.

Looked fairly realistic for a few minutes.

Ever watch this show? I think the one in the middle is selling those walk in shower remodel jobs ?
I have also seen the one on the right on that Garage squad shop that fix's up car project that are stalled.

The one on the left? On parole?

The one in the middle is Cristy Lee. Definitely NOT selling showers...

She's a true gearhead and motorcycle racer. She also has a show on HGTV now where she does do renovations, but she's not doing those commercials. She's the real deal.

The other two are just annoying.

If a woman OR a man is on a show and is actually knowledgeable, I give them respect. If they are just eye candy or if the show has two dorks talking about the products…. Then it cuts to commercials and the project is DONE when the ads are over, that is bullshit. Those shows might as well be infomercials that are nothing but product placement. The Garage Squad jerkoff Bruno was a fraud. He came across as a total loser that did as I mentioned…talk to the camera while standing next to the car, then stuff was done after the commercial break.

And Cristy Lee is a Mopar girl at heart. Bogey on the right was also on Garage Squad ...following Cristy Lee's departure.

I'm not so sure....he is a racer, and racer's typically start off their careers by wrenching on their own junk (no pun intended).

Dave Chappell ended up getting that 29 Roadster PU that Tony and Lucky did on Hotrod Garage. He has a web site where he mainly works on 4WDs but in this case .he added something different. It’s a pretty basic build that was thrown together. In the intital episode he had to get it running. He fought and fought to get it to start and idle. Had a 3x2 setup with three 2GCs. Finally ended up going with a single 4 barrel. Man, he’s pretty easygoing considering the roadblock he ran into.

(No mention of jail time) :poke:

The one on the left....Faye Hadley. Has a degree in psychology.

I used to cuss and yell and all that and even beat down the roof of my 71 Cuda but that was because my X pissed off so bad that I picked the car to beat up instead of her. Since she left, I pretty much quit cussing and the only person that pisses me off these days is myself......and my sister.

The guys on Twin Turbos.... Doug & Brad DeBerti are for real....they have won SEMA awards and sell hi-end products. Their on-screen antics are real enough....as is their assistant who screams like a school girl when the ride gets a bit out there.

From what I've seen all of the All Girls Garage girls have some legit level of mechanical knowledge. The punker girl Faye was like a Toyota dealership mech, I've watched some of her vids and she knows some stuff, more specific to the job she held it seems.
Bogi seems to be into air cooled VWs which I always have a soft spot for........but I don't think I would own one again!
