Rubber coated copper head gaskets..... need O rings?

man with your compression I would not use anything other than cometic gaskets, they make different thicknesses if you want to lower your compression

Thanks, but at $300 for a pair, I'd like to find a better deal

I think that I am going to try the cam swap first.
I talked with a guy at "Flatout". He said that these gaskets are meant to be used in conjuction with a Fel Pro wire ring gasket . The Fel Pro wire embeds into the copper to form the seal.
Nevertheless, I've been grasping at many straws here to fix this car. As i step away and look at it all, the most common suggestions are to first change the cam. RustyRatRod gave me some good advice on a cam I am going to try. Thanks to all who have offered help.
