With people here in different parts of the country, and the world, I'm curious to know what slang terminology, is and was used. And for what reason or description. I may be showing my age, but as a youth when you liked something, it was "keen ", or " neat". And afterwards, it became " boss ". Which was followed by "bad", which was the exact opposite of what you thought.

I think it's more generational...now instead of good stuff being 'bad' or 'tough' it's 'sick' and 'off-the-hook'...gay being another example.

Unless you are out west, then it could be Spoovey.

I think 'neat' is now derogatory. So is 'cute' both are synonymous with 'gay' or 'lame'

I always referred to things as 'cool' or 'badass'.

Groovulous is one of mine and my kid brothers, half groovy and half fabulous. Mid 60's, Midwest.

Several seem strange to me.
*Sick = well done or desireable.
*The **** = top notch, a maven, the best of its kind.
I still say "cool" or "bad ***". I never embraced bitchin, boss, radical, gnarly, far out, groovy, trippy....any of the hippie or stoner type slang.

I don't blow anyone. I am about 100 miles from San Francisco but I have never had a hankerin' for cock.
Thanks for the laugh though.

"Boss" seems to be back,

but it's "like a boss" now.

"Killer" was used a while back, so was "dope", haven't hear either term in a long time.

That's psychedelic. Meaning mind expanding.
