smoking/nonsmoking

That is why most people when they stop smoking gain weight , why do you think America has a weight problem all the people who stopped smoking started eating .About golfing I did it twice in my life, the only game where nobody throws or hits the ball back to you, dumbest game I ever played.:headbang:

OK then. We now have a new topic for discussion....:blob1::blob1::blob1:

ehhhh well I smoked for nearly 10 years.... just party smoking of course. (aka POT)

I tried smoking but I realized I was doing it to "just fit in". So I never really smoked...unless it was pot of course. I really dont care if you are a smoker or not..... dont throw your dang cigarette butts out the window of your car. Smoke in the office... I DONT CARE. But the hygiene of MOST smokers urks me to NO END. My wife smokes and I DO NOT allow her to smoke in my 67 Convertible Mustang, MY Mach I or my daily driver the Civic nor will she be smoking in my future MOPAR (whatever it may be). Her car has a damn nice coffee mug from Starbucks......FILLED with cigarette butts :angryfire:

Blow smoke in my face but stop acting like heatherns and throwing your crap on the ground.....

now then.... have a nice day.:toothy5:

I can remember yrs ago a guy came into the truckstop and sat down in the truckers section(he wasn't a trucker). He then ask the guy that was sitting in the booth next to him that had finished his meal to put out is cigarette.Well the driver told the guy he was sitting in the trucker's area(yes most of us did smoke back then)and he could move to a non-smoking area.I would've told him the same thing.I just had a person in cannonsburg,pa where i was having my truck unloaded at an office complex started ranting about me smoking at the end of the trailer but outside and told me to put that nasty thing out, well i wasn't finished with it yet.If you ask me with respect i might put it out, but if you start ranting like a lunatic, then i will blow smoke in your face.Sorry it was taking me so long to type this but i was smoking a cigarette at the time.

Golf is seemingly simple & yet extremely hard to excicute... Be careful there, some of us are "Golf addicts too", you don't want to go there either...LOL... Ex-Member of Black Hawk CC, Ex-Member of Ranch Murieta CC ,Ex-Member of Oakhurst CC... Ex-Golf Pro, Hogan Tour, Hooters Tour, Pepsi Tour, Calif. Mini Tour, Sunshine Tour, Maxfli Tour/others & current golf equipment fitting & teaching Pro, not affiliated with any club... not good enough to tour any longer with the flat bellies anyway... JUST KIDDING... Golfing was my biggest problem when I smoked, way too long waiting for shitty players hitting almost 2 shots to my one, bored sometime, made the round not seem so long, made me relax, but I probably smoked, twice as much on the course as anywhere else, well except the bar/lounge maybe... :headbang: I'm glad I no longer smoke, but that's my choice, not someone else's choice to make for me....

Exactly.

Respect for each other is the name of the game but I don't see much from smokers either even when I've have been. I've suffered from allergies all my life and never got any respect from 90% of smokers and did I mention even when I asked nicely. Bad thing about having allergies and having to work with smokers is you are captive to them but I found many years ago that most cig smokers HATE cigars and for some reason (I'm sure it's the lack of additives in a cigar), cigars don't bother me like cigs do so I started smoking cigars at work. DAYAM!! All the cry babies that came out of the woodwork!! It was insane. They (cigs smokers) jumped my *** from all sides. WTH is that all about? No respect from non smokers is because there's absolutely none coming from 90% of the smokers but I think I mentioned that. And are there any motorcycle riders that have caught someone's live butt after they flicked it out of their car window?? I've been hit with them many times. Well, that's why we get these stooooopid laws slapped on us. Freedom of choice doesn't mean freedom of abuse on others. Here not too long ago I got on a boat and took a ride into the Houston Ship Channel starting in the turning basin which is something I've never done after living here for 45 years and I was amazed at all the trash in the water.....and the huge amount of cig butts floating around. It's pretty obvious that humans don't give a ****. If you want to smoke, go for it but PLEASE be respectful and responsible and maybe I won't fart around you :D After all, if it's ok for you to smoke, it's ok for me to fart, right! Hey, at least I'm doing something normal and natural and everyone does it :icon_fU:

My parents, grandma and other adults around me did all the smoking I ever needed to do. Not sure that is the sole reason I have never smoked (and never care to) but I did take a puff off a cig once with a group of friends when I was maybe in the 8th grade and I couldn't understand what the appeal was. Pretty much tasted horrible to me so I never bothered. I detest the smell of cigarette smoke but pipes and cigars don't bother me. I don't care for pot smoke either but it's better than cigarettes.

I believe it's no secret that smoking is bad for you, so if something happens you don't have too many people you can blame. I also understand it is very addictive and most people who want to quit can't. Better to not start I guess. I also agree that it's ones constitutional right to smoke - something to do with that life, liberty and pursuit of happiness stuff. An argument can also be made that as a non smoker one feels they shouldn't have to pay for medical treatment for those suffering the ill effects of smoking. There is tax on a pack of cigarettes so if someone wants to smoke that should cover medical treatment (in reality it probably goes into someone’s pocket). Same as if one wants to drive one can pay gas tax. The foregoing comment treads the fine line of the healthcare debate where people are getting worked up about who pays for what and how they are treated, but I know none of us lives in a plastic bubble that protects us from every conceivable health threat and where insurance premiums in such a circumstance would be $4.99 / mo., including the deluxe vinyl patch kit. Reality is quite different and it's our duty according to God to take care of our fellow man and to not judge. This leads me to a quick story about my old neighbor.

I live in a condo complex, which is a lesson in it self. Bear with me here as I am getting to a point. My neighbor below me was a smoker, and on a nice evening as I'm relaxing on the couch (probably replying to a technical post on FBBO) with the sliding door open to get that cool evening breeze, he lights up a cigarette. My initial reaction was to tell him that he is filling my room with smoke - in a nice way. Of course he's not doing it on purpose and has no clue what is going on so I just closed the door and let it go. Here I thought I have to give up my rights of the pursuit of happiness then said to my self he has as much right to his pursuit of happiness and the problem is not found in his desire to smoke and my desire not to but in something much larger. The root of the problem is the condo complex and similar dwellings where too many people are crammed too close together. This is also the very reason for HOA's - to strip away your constitutional rights under the facade of maintaining property values and being a good neighbor. Just give people more space and half the complaints would go away! But that wouldn't go over well for the people shoving planned communities down our throats.

Last I heard about my smoking neighbor, after I noticed the lack of smoke and saw some people in his place cleaning up and painting is he had cancer and most likely wasn't coming down for breakfast in the near future. Sad indeed and let it be known I DID NOT wish this on him.

Damn I knew there was something about you I liked. Your Golf resume is pretty darn close to mine as well. I am a teaching Pro right now. So I guess the next question is where is the first hole and what's the course record....?:blob1::blob1::iamwithstupid:

I have a question to ask all non smokers and smokers cause i now fit into both catagorys. They allow you to smoke in the casino here in Tampa i have gone there both while and after i quit,if you went [non smokers can answer] would you?
A- Ask the person sitting next to you to refrain from smoking politely [or not]
B- put on the waving the hand and coughing act
C- not go due to there's no non smoking area
D- you would go anyway cause you enjoy gambling and checking out the drink girls

NOW for the smokers - when the non smoker asks you to refrain from smoking IN A SMOKING ALLOWED ENVIROMENT what will you do?
A- Get up and move to another seat so another smoker can play the machine you dumped 100 bucks in.
B- Call them a pussy and belittle them in front of everyone cause of their horrible acting
C- Be happy that the non smokers are not interupting your evening
D- ignore them and gamble while checking out the drink girls.

Just trying to lighten up this discussion cause there will never be an agreement that makes everyone happy. And by the way i hate golf i would rather watch paint dry or grass grow, just my opinion!!!

I rarely went out to clubs or even restaurants when smoking was allowed in them because I would pay for it with an allergy attack for the next several days but at times I would go out to some club with friends. Ya just can't stay holed up all your life but restaurants were always visited during 'off' hours to minimize my exposure to it. In the mid 70's where I worked I was asked if I wanted to go into the crane line (overhead cranes) and one of the things I thought about was that I would be up there by myself and away from smokers. Yup, I took that job after thinking about it for a grand total of about 2 minutes and NO ONE was allowed to enter the cab with a cigarette in their hand when I was in it. I think I paid my dues with people being allowed to smoke when and where ever they pleased and now the shoe is on the other foot....only now smokers have their areas to smoke and I have mine to not be around it if I don't want to. As for being cramped up in a condo....I live on a 1/2 acre lot and my next door neighbor's patio is a good 100 feet from mine and on nearly calm days/nights when there's only about a 3 mph breeze and they are outside smoking....if the breeze is coming my way, I have to go inside. Having 20 acres is much better!

Yep, that stuff can travel. You should have been here when it was within spittin' distance. Or maybe not!!

I just avoid places like that all together. And "HATE" is such an ugly word. Too bad you feel that way about Golf. Then again the game isn't for everybody as it is the only true game that defines oneself in its entirety. It's just you and the course....:blob1:

Nasty, nasty!

Thanks Richard for the graphic photos [but they work best] here in florida they have taken that approach thru tv ads i'm not sure if the scare tactics are working. My reason for quitting were two fold for several months prior to quitting i just did not enjoy the taste and smell of smoking [ever since they added that additive to make them go out] they just did not taste and smell like they used to,then i got the flu during the time i'm sick i don't smoke cause it irritates my already sore throat and after i got better i never started smoking again [that was nov.2011] it's a struggle every day the urges come and go but i'm gonna fight them and not give in i'm 53 and i want to live longer so i can enjoy my retirement. I quit drinking a long time ago too.

If you need to know where the first hole is,you need to go back to the blue forum;course record is how fast you can left click your mouse.Being a smarta@#.As far as golf i didn't used to watch it but as i got older i find myself watching it more than before. My son likes to play but i don't know if i could do that for an afternoon.

Let me say one anything in moderation is fine, even the bible says that. As far as drinking I only drink beer and have either 2 or 3 a day. I still enjoy the pipe and if it got to the point where I would quit, the thing I ask myself what would I do to replace it ? Because most people when they quit one thing take up another, I have seen it over and over. As for the people who stopped drinking thanks that means there is more beer for me.

frank, you can have all my beer cause i don't drink it,never liked the taste and i don't drink that much hard liquor either.I think the last drink i had was when i got married 7 yrs ago july 16th

Looking at the smokers teeth, im convinced that testicle ripping fish that was on hear (the pacu?) was a smoker.
