stuck hood release

Hey guys, the inside hood release on my '72 is stuck. The hood release pulls back all the way but doesn't trip the latch. It feels like the cable is still attached because there is some resistance. Is there an "emergency" way to open these hoods so I can get some WD-40 on the thing? (something I was meaning to do)

If this is on a 72 Road Runner like mine, you should be able to go up from behind the bumper and reach the latch to be able to release the hood. It might take a small screw driver to release the hood if it is closed tightly. I hope this helps.

Great, now clean the latch and release and lubricate it.
