swapping a shifter on trans 4 speed

what oil or grease to use to give shifter a lube.not new or rebuilt,just temporary because it has a slip in handle. thanks

Graphite or white lithium would be my guess.

You almost can't go wrong with lubricant. I use wheel bearing grease on the linkage on mine, but white lithium sounds like a better idea for inside the vehicle....ever try to get wheel bearing grease out of light-colored carpet?
