Deceased, But not forgotton
when living in California early 2000's a friend living about 2 miles from me had a # matching Cuda 440 ,4 speed 6pak, (yes, I know it's an E body)the engine was out of the car in his garage being rebuilt. the car sat alongside the access to the garage while he worked on the Cuda. Sacramento county abatement had decided car's not licensed or in operating condition could not be seen from the street, stupid regulation. county abatement officer came by told him the car could not be parked where it was with no engine in it. he replied he owned the property and car and no one was going to make him move it. he was cited and given a time period to move the car or it would be towed away as "eyesore" junk. he was resolved to leave it as it sat.the abatement officer drove by several times to see if it had been moved-when the time limit was up- the abatement officer, a tow truck and a sheriff arrived as the sheriff held the owner at bay, the car was put on a rollback truck and taken away as junk/deserted abandoned vehicle-it then became the property of the tow company. he went to the tow company and wanted to pay the tow bill and pay to have it returned to him. the tow company -now owners of the Cuda said- if you want the Cuda rollery the price is $10,000.00, taken away as junk, a day later it is a rare cuda and the owner set the price.
he did not have any way to get 10K and-lost the car.. (trying to remember was a 6 pak available in the Cuda's?) memory is just- a memory.
