Does anyone know the full length of the one for a 1973 440 4 bbl with a 727 automatic trans? Also does anyone have a picture of the way it needs to be correctly set up?

Got a service manual?
There's drawings of the various hook-ups in there.

No.
But, shouldn't matter. Main thing your looking at, for ANY linkage set-up, using any carb, is clearance. All the length of the stud (not sure which end your asking about), is...if the actual threaded 'stud' end, that takes a nut...if it has clearance to the main body. Needs to move the full sweep.
If the linkage end, and where the springs also go, there's clearance for no binding.

I was wondering about the length of the whole stud as I want to make sure that I got one for a big block and not a small block and one for a 4bbl and not a 2bbl. Just want to make sure I have the right part. I gave the Chrysler part number and the guy wanted a picture not part number.

Who did you give the P/N to?

If that carburetor shop is worth it's salt...
Suggest you take the stud itself with you to that shop. A fair chance they'll have a core laying around, with the stud still on it, and you can compare.
Though...I'd think you could (if the stud, and part # are Mopar) research the part #. Should be able to find it's application. Can't tell you if stud for a 2-barrel is dif, or not. Never use 'em.

In my experience there are two different stud types, one that screws from the outside of the lever and one from the inside. There may be a different one for four speed cars, and it may be shorter because it doesn't need to interface the kick down.

I collect them when I can, cause you always seem not to have one when you need one.

They are typically 1-2 dollars at the u pull versus 15 or more new or from ebay.

Seems i have got it together. Now just to see how it works when running.
