So, looking at the factory options of my 74 RR/Satellite, it does not appear a tilt column was an option. My fat *** and short legs are a problem in this car as when I adjust the seat far enough forward to reach the pedals, my fat beer gut gets in the way of the steering wheel. So I am thinking tilt steering would fix this problem. I can cut back in beer a little bit to save money to pay for this, then once installed I can go back to drinking heavily. So, my question is, what tilt steering column fits a 74RR with minimal modifications, and what turn signal switch do I need? I would like to retain the same Tuff Wheel that came with the car if that makes a difference. The car is also a 4-speed manual so no shifter linkage attachments on the column are needed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe a tilt column was available.
I may be wrong, but they were available in 71 and 72.
They were gm sourced and had a clear lens indicator, and "rim blow" style steering wheels.

I was looking at the 74 dealer brochure and nowhere was it mentioned. So in the WTB board what do i ask for? Will 71/72 work? Can I keep the tuff wheel?

Not sure on any of that.

73 is a one year only column.

71/72 or 74 and up may work but the mount on the bottom is different and the "rag joint" is different as well as the portion of the column under the hood.

If you get a whole column, maybe adapt your floorboard mount.

Also, it was kind of a rare option, so there's that.

Guess I should lose weight.

Has anyone seen/used these? Any input would be appreciated. I’m looking to upgrade to tilt steering.

I got the perfect tilt column for you.
From a 76 B body.
The factory mopar column is a hybrid GM unit. So finding the collar to remove the shifter means getting one from a similar year chevy.
I'll post a picture in a bit.

Thanks. Mine is a manual 4 speed floor shift. Does it take/fit/accept the stock Mopar turn signal switch?

Norms does everything Mopar suspension/steering.
Not sure what years exactly, but I've bought 62/64 parts and a completely restored 68 column from him.

Its a factory mopar column. Don't know if the turn signal switch is mopar or hybrid like the ignition switch.
Same column parts as the c body tilt, which I have several of, but this bolts in a 73 up b body.

Easy way/expensive way.
4 pages of Kern Dog swapping to tilt.
