trans help??? please.

hey FBBO I have a 74 satellite with 318 with a 904 auto trans. when i take off in drive gears two and three slip? but when put it in second gear it does not slip.

Is there a way to fix this problem or should i find a different trans. and

How hard is it to put a shift kit in a trans.

First thing I would do is put up on jack stand and drop the pan, good chance filter is stopping up, then ajust bands where applicatable, actually this is your least expensive step. Then go from there. Do You have a manuel with specs on your trans?

i changed the filter a few months ago it had a few metal shavings on it. i do have a repair manuel i will look though it.
