Trans in Park doesn't always hold?

I'm wondering what my issue is, sometimes when I put my trans in park it doesn't always hold and the car will roll. What is the issue and how is it fixed? Thanks

Don't leave your car running 'till you get it fixed! I can tell ya that....

Linkage adjustment should fix it if column shift. Mine's a sloppy loose console assembly that I need to tackle soon.

Yes, adjust the park lever rod so its firmly seated into the sprag when in Park position. I had the same issue and now its fixed.

Like dadsbee said. Its more than likely a linkage adjustment problem . I don't know much about the column cars but the console cars have an adjusting rod that runs from bottom of the shifter up to the gear shift leaver on the transmission. Hardest part is getting the car up i the air... after that , adjustments takes a out 3 mins
