Theoretically, yes with a little luck. If the intitial is good but you are off on total, it could require a change to the distributor. A really trick way of doing that is available from FBO (advance limiter plate)

Agreed. An important part in setting timing is knowing exactly how much mechanical timing your particular distributor is adding. I use the FBO limiter plate and love it. I have my initial set at 16° and use the 18° slots for a known all-in of 34°. Since I'm running the original restored AVS I have to use the ported vac source for advance.
