Just thought i would share some pics of my latest creations.
My dad has had a set of U.S. Indy slotted mags on his chevelle since the 70s. With some wear and tear, maybe a little abuse, the center caps have seen better days. So I thought I would use this to challenge my self and see if I could make a set.

With a little 6061 round stock, some lathe work and a little milling.
This is what I came up with. just have to make a center for them.

Damn nice job!

Excellent work! It would be neat to see a Pentastar engraved in the center on each one. :D

It would be nice if I had those skills...Fan-ta-stic !

Sweet!! Nice work Man! I love machined parts. This is a Hartzell propeller hub piston machined from a block of billet aluminum.

If they where mine and going on my car, I would. But I did print this for my work station at work. Got a bunch of Chevy and Ford guys there.

******* Gorgeous, simply awesome!!!!!!! Does the stainless wear out the tooling bits quickly?

Thanks. I use high speed dynamic milling toolpaths and chip thinning lot and the tools do last longer. I love stainless because if you get the right speeds and feeds it comes out beautiful, but if you have the wrong speeds and feeds it will let you know, quick.

Yeah, cutting has has a particular range where the metal is happy. I don't know if You've seen my stuff before, but I use aluminum aircraft propeller blades as a springboard for making sculptures, I try to present a machined look by hand. These statuettes, Blade(obelisk) & Chalice(Y) are made of metal excised from different blades. They are two piece matings, all the surfaces are eccentric. All the filing & sanding is very speed sensitive, where the metal is happy being cut.
