This area had floods of basaltic lava roughly 15 million years ago. And we had ice age floods from glacial lake Missoula, in Montana roughly 15 thousand years ago.
Above is a shot of Palouse Falls and a random basalt flow. (Photos not mine)

Allentown. Great place to be from. Real Town. Parades. Corner Drug Stores. American. Pop 150k. Mack Trucks. Americana.

Anything outdoors! We have it all, from camping and hunting, fishing, white water.
Our license plate used to say Wild Wonderful West Virginia

To add to Hank's post: We have over 6,000 of groomed snowmobile trails, lots of ORV trails, tons of lakes, sand dunes to play on, 4 distinct seasons, no hurricanes, few floods, few tornados, few forest fires, almost no earth quakes, and Lake Michigan on our West side which moderates all our weather. I've lived here almost 70 years so I might be prejudiced!

We are approaching one of the most beautiful periods of the year here in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY.
If you like fall foliage, it's some of the best scenery in the Northeast.

Small midwest town here that is birthplace of Charles Westover, also known as Del Shannon. Know several neighbors that went to school with him or graduated with him.

Modesto California... Home of American Graffiti, Well actually the hometown of George Lucas who wrote & directed American Graffiti & based the movie on his growing up here....

Home of Gallo Winery

We use to be a pretty quiet farm community but have become more of a bedroom community for the bay area...

You can be at the beach or high in the Sierras within two hours....

But the coolest thing in Modesto is ME!!

George Washington Slept at a house a few blocks from me during the Revolutionary War. It's still there, declared a historical landmark.

North East, PA. In the North West corner of the state, Concord grapes everywhere. Lake Erie, In the 50'60'70's low crime, 4 seasons, parades and festivals, holidays were celebrated in the community, could ride a bike or walk anywhere as a kid. Small town. quiet and a great place to grow up.

York, PA area
> served as U.S. capital for a short time during the Revolutionary War
> original home of the York Peppermint Patty

I'm in Tampa FL....there is NOTHING cool here. Unless you like drunken idiocracy, then there is the annual Gasparilla Parade.

Winters....

Dont you have the lake?? I have the Lake Erie. It recieves mostly bad press and always has, but I think it would be a lot more boring around here without it! Definately adds a lot of fishing and tourism to the rust belt.
